My Travelogue
December, 2007
I traveled to the Philippines again for the Christmas holidays. It's always good to go back to the native land and see my folks and siblings. This time, I get to stay in my own house! I had this house built over a period of two years, with the help of my sister, Carissa. Building a house over the internet and long distance phone calls everyday was a challenge. WIth the help of 3 architects and a good contractor, we got the job done! The view from the balcony is breathtaking. My house sits on a cliff and I see the rural life on the valley. The loft offers a view of the city and the Cebu Harbor plus the beautiful mansions in Maria Luisa Village.
Trish and Jim McCully and their son Kyle came from Ft. Collins to visit the Mandaue City School for the Arts. They had hosted 4 of the kids from the school when they travelled to the United States on a concert tour. They stay with me for 10 days. The challenge of the hot water heater in the house doesn't faze them. Good plumbers are hard to come by.
In the course of their stay, we get to go the the Mandaue kids concerts. It's always so moving and mesmerizing to hear the voice of angels. Thirty three kids stay in my house for a sleep over. It was a lot of fun - dancing, singing and eating! Lots of food for everyone! The lechon is the main ingredient and the ice cream is a genuine tre at for the children. Good to the last lick! These children, their talents and their dreams are a national treasure!
I attended the first Asian International Real Estate Conference in Manila at the Philipine International Convention Center. I met a few realtors. Due to a national security incident, many of the attendees cancelled at the last minute. We were feted with the best enterntainment every night! Free food for lunch and dinner to make up for a lot of things. All in all, it was a lot of fun, learned a few things and met some really good people.
July 2008
I'm off the the Craig Proctor Seminar in Orlando, Florida. It promises a lot so we shall see.
My friend, Nazia offers to take me to Russia this year. Exciting because I have never been there. I also booked my ticket for my 40th High School Reunion in Cebu, Philippines. Time sure goes fast!
Having moved to Your Castle Real Estate has really been good for me. Real Estate is always exciting and fun!
